Scandalously known Ukrainian artist Roman Minin will open his personal exhibition “Symbol of Faith” in Kyiv Museum of Russian Art on February, 2, 2010.

Roman Minin became famous in Ukraine and Russia after his exhibition “V Zaboi ili v Zapoi” (To work or to drink) in Donetsk-city, which was forbidden by local officials. Now his works are presented by “Volga” gallery (Moscow) and Independent Art Gallery of Antin Muharsky ANTIN’S COLLECTIONS (Kyiv).

We presented two special projects- “Village Glam” (private collection of the Ukrainian handicraft paintings, which is collected by Antin Muharsky during more than ten years and collection of designer fashion clothes “Village Glam”, the authors of which is Antin Muharsky and Snizhana Egorova) and the project of Ivan Semesyuk “Zhlob- Art. Biomass”. Also we presented the works of Serhiy Hohol form his ART FAT project.

According to the organizers of the festival, guests of the exhibition and journalists of Kharkiv mass-media, both projects became really something special of the festival.

The reality of Ukrainian life is total chaos and Armageddon in the country, which is felt by the millions of Ukrainians. There are several contemporary artists, who depict the real life in Ukraine with the art methods, among of these millions of people, who are Ukrainian peasants, workers, officials and the working intelligentsia. The art works of these artists depend to so called soc-art, poster painting, neo-pop-art and neo-classic art. They illustrate the artists’ attitude to social, cultural and sometimes even to everyday problems. The active civil position and art activity in its defending was the main criteria in choosing the artists for creating of “The Death Match “ project.
